$16.80 per administrative hour, $30.00 - $40.00 per group fitness class hour (DOE): Minimum rates may vary based on local wage laws. Pay depends on factors including site location, specialty, certifications, work experience, and other business needs. Role and Responsibilities The Pilates Instructor is responsible for leading safe, effective, and engaging Pilates classes for members while maintaining instructional and educational standards consistent with Active Wellness' commitment to quality. Specific Responsibilities Essential Functions Deliver safe Pilates classes to the members Assist members in using safe and effective form during his/her workout Administer emergency care to members and guests in need of assistance Work as a TEAM with all other departments Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor Other Functions Be knowledgeable about all programs and activities offered by Active Wellness Promote club services and activities Perform routine maintenance of Pilates equipment Assist with keeping the club well stocked and clean Attend Active Wellness site meetings and trainings Handle injury and illness and security incident reporting Qualifications and Education Requirements AA degree preferred 2 years Group Exercise experience preferred. Experience teaching Pilates Mat highly preferred. Current nationally recognized Group Fitness Certification or specialty class certificate, specialty class license (i.e. Pilates, Zumba®, etc.). Customer service oriented and ability to teach Previous health club personal training experience is a plus. Must be detail oriented, organized and highly responsive with a commitment to customer service Strong verbal communication skills Basic computer skills, customer service skills, results oriented, ability to multitask, and commitment to the fitness industry AED/CPR/First Aid Certified National Personal Training Certification(s) required (see approved Certification, Licenses and Permits list) as well as modality specific certifications as required by role (if applicable) Proof of citizenship or legal status Physical and Working Conditions Ability to take the responsibility for the health and safety of others Ability to stand for several hours in a same shift; ability to lift 25 lbs Fitness club environment Must follow OSHA and Active Wellness safety standards Benefits Health, Dental and Vision Insurance (Full Time) Health Flexible Spending Account (Full Time) Paid Time Off (Full Time) Parking & Transit Flexible Spending Accounts 401(k) (Eligible after 1 year of service + 1000 work hours) Legal Support Plan Employee Assistance Program & Mental Health Support Service Complimentary Club Membership and Discounts on Active Products (where applicable) This job description is intended to describe the general requirements for the position.
