Drexel University, Athletics Job Summary Group Exercise Instructors are an important part of the Fitness and Wellness department here at Drexel's Recreation Center. Group Exercise Instructors are responsible for teaching a variety of fitness classes in a variety of levels to Drexel students, staff, and community members.

Some class examples may include:

BODYPUMP, Zumba, Yoga, Cycle, Pilates, and more. They are responsible for providing a safe, fun and inclusive environment for all members. Essential Functions Set up and clean up of equipment and music Provide customer service and a friendly attitude Choreograph, count, cue, modify exercises, correct form, choose music Be knowledgeable of and able to enforce facility and program policies Assist with any program events Attend meetings/trainings Keep up with emails and group chat for information and subs Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Minimum of a HS Diploma or GED CPR/First Aid/AED Cert- or ability to get certified Ability to complete the workout themselves and talk while teaching Communicate with supervisor via email, group chat and reply within 24 hour period unless noted, and ability to ask questions or address concerns in a respectful manner Ability to communicate and work with with co-workers when looking for coverage, asking questions, or solving problems Adaptable, team player, professional Preferred Qualifications Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health Promotion, etc. Group Exercise nationally recognized certification (ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NCSA, etc.) OR certification for the specific class you want to teach (Zumba, Les Mills,etc) 1-2 years prior experience in teaching group exercise Passionate about exercise and helping people Ability to lead, communicate, problem solve, and multitask Ability to teach multiple formats is a plus Physical Demands Typically standing, walking Typically bending, crouching, stooping Typically running, climbing Lifting demands 50lbs Location Salus Campus - Elkins Park Additional Information This is a Part-Time per diem position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
