The YMCA is looking for an energetic and dependable Fitness Instructor to lead engaging group fitness classes in a welcoming, community-focused environment. As a Fitness Instructor, you will create safe, effective, and enjoyable workouts for participants with different experience and fitness levels. You will demonstrate proper techniques, offer modifications, monitor participant safety, and help every member feel supported and successful.
Responsibilities include:
Lead fun, motivating, and well-organized fitness classes. Demonstrate exercises using proper form and technique. Provide clear instructions and modifications for different fitness levels. Monitor participants and promote the safe use of equipment. Adjust workouts based on the needs and abilities of the class. Build positive relationships with participants. Create an inclusive and encouraging class environment. Perform other related duties as assigned. We are looking for someone who brings energy, encouragement, and a commitment to helping others reach their wellness goals. Must be at least 18 years old. Current instructor certification for the class being taught is required. Knowledge of proper exercise form, technique, and equipment safety. Strong communication and group leadership skills. Ability to motivate participants with different fitness levels and abilities. Dependable, professional, and comfortable leading a group. Ability to demonstrate exercises and remain active throughout class. Ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, squat, perform repetitive movements, and lift or move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. Ability to complete all required background clearances, including Pennsylvania Child Abuse History, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History, and FBI fingerprint-based checks, as applicable.
