The Opportunity As a Personal Trainer (PT) at The CORE in Coppell, you are responsible for designing and implementing personalized exercise programs that prioritize safety, efficacy, and member engagement. Whether coaching individuals or small groups, your function is to provide the expert instruction and unwavering motivation necessary for members to hit their milestones and sustain a healthy lifestyle. Schedule Commitment This position requires open availability during weekday evenings and weekends, with an average of 10-20 hours per week, not to exceed 20 hours per week. Essential Job Functions Models Coppell's Core Competencies and Champions Coppell's Culture. Demonstrate the value of personal training by creating an outstanding personal training experience for new and existing clients. Motivate and inspire clients to get results by setting goals, creating customized workout plans, and tracking progress. Prepare and deliver comprehensive fitness programs based on clients' goals that include appropriate exercise selection and teaching a fitness lifestyle.
First Aid/Safety:
Set up and break down fitness equipment. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the equipment that is being used. Provide CPR/First Aid as required, reporting any broken or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
Ad Hoc Tasks:
Undertakes additional tasks as requested or required to contribute to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the Community Experiences Department. Global W.U.T.S Current First Aid/AED Certification; it will be required upon hire for continued employment
Current Adult CPR Certification:
it will be required upon hire for continued employment Experienced in the use of free weights, weight training machines, cardiovascular training equipment, and group fitness equipment Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Human Mechanics:
Mastery of anatomy, biomechanics, and exercise physiology.
Program Design:
The ability to craft "smart" workouts, from periodization for athletes to functional movement for seniors.
Safety Standards:
Expert knowledge of injury prevention, postural assessments, and corrective exercise techniques.
Nutritional Basics:
A solid understanding of macronutrients and hydration to provide common-sense fueling advice.
Emergency Readiness:
Current knowledge of CPR, AED, and first aid protocols.
Instructional Clarity:
The ability to break down complex movements into simple, actionable cues that anyone can follow.
Motivational Mastery:
A "coaching toolbox" full of techniques to keep members engaged when the workouts get tough. The "Pivot"
Skill:
The agility to modify a workout on the fly based on a client's energy levels, physical limitations, or equipment availability.
Active Observation:
A keen eye for detail, noticing a shifted heel or a rounded back before the member even feels it.
Rapport Building:
Exceptional interpersonal skills to turn a one-time session into a long-term fitness partnership.
Time Management:
Punctuality that sets the standard for the city; you're always ready before the client walks through the door.
