Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Be on call to lead cycling classes at various times, provide excellent service to members in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Cycling classes are held T-F 6:00-6:45 am, M/W/F 9:30-10:45 am, and T/TH 12:15-1:00 pm.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals. Conduct energizing, fun, safe, and educational classes. Prioritize modifications & inclusion. Build effective relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA. Maintain working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members. Keep accurate class attendance records. Follow YMCA policies and procedures; respond to emergency situations.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required current certifications: CPR/ AED, national group fitness certification (ACE, NETA, AFAA, NASM) in group fitness instruction or willingness to obtain them. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Must be dependable Experience teaching group fitness classes preferred.

The ability to demonstrate exercises and fitness-related movements. This includes but is not limited to: lifting dumbbells, pressing weight overhead, pressing weight with legs, sitting/laying on the floor, standing, jumping, and running. The ability to hear and speak to be heard by class participants. Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
