Paper Crane Yoga offers after school enrichment throughout Bellingham School District by teaching kids K-5 yoga and mindfulness. We bring this to life through movement, intention-setting, and arts and crafts. We are seeking professional, enthusiastic, and reliable teachers to join our team for the 2026 fall and 2027 winter/spring sessions! Candidates MUST have both experience with yoga AND working with kids. Please do not apply if you are missing one of these two key requirements.
The Ideal Candidate Would Be:
  • Willing to teach 1-4 classes a week (classes are one hour, right after school)
  • Well-versed in yoga (able to lead students through simple sequencing including sun salutations, opening stretching, and savasana)
  • Able to meet the needs of up to 10 students in a class (keeping things fun while still managing the energy of the group)
  • Excellent at communication
  • Flexible and willing to learn
  • Able to commit to a 12 week schedule, with an additional training day prior (date TBD). Preference will be given to candidates who can continue teaching throughout the school year.
  • Able to accommodate the elementary school schedule (available 2:15-3:45pm M/T/W/F, and 12:05pm-1:35pm Thursdays)
Experience:
Experience as a yoga Instructor is preferred . Experience as a yoga student will be considered if sufficient. Experience with kids (K-5 age range) is required . Strong classroom management skills, and ability to adapt to student needs. Able to follow an hour-long lesson plan, to keep class on pace. Able to lead students through simple yoga sequencing (including sun salutations and sanskrit terms, as provided). Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire participants of all backgrounds. Reliability, as evidenced by previous employment. This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone looking to gain valuable experience working with kids! Yoga provides students with the tools they need to see themselves more clearly, and to understand how special they are from the inside out. Must be 18+ and hold a high school diploma to apply. Pay is dependent on experience, roughly $25-$30 per class
