Job Description

Pharmacist - PRN Noland Hospital Anniston
Anniston, AL Pay Rate Frequency:
Hourly Summary of Duties Interprets medication orders, compounds and dispenses medications and other pharmaceutical preparations in accordance with the legal, ethical, regulatory, and professional standards of pharmacy practice. Essential Job Functions Dispenses medications and pharmaceuticals, including controlled substances, in compliance with department and hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and professional standards; maintains the appropriate records. Prepares and/or supervises the preparation of parenteral medications. Fills and/or checks unit dose carts. Fills and/or supervises the preparation of newly ordered medications. Assists the Director of Pharmacy in coordinating and implementing the activities of the Pharmacy. Supervises the technical support staff. Assists with clinical, quality management, and education programs. Consults with and advises medical and nursing staffs on matters related to drugs and drug products; documents the outcomes of the consultations of the Intervention Log. Maintains and reviews patient medication profiles and ensures confidentiality of patient information. Provides drug information to healthcare professionals and patients. Monitors profile for drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, and appropriate drug therapy and duration. Performs other duties as assigned. Education Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy and licensed in the State of Alabama. Experience Prior hospital pharmacy experience preferred. Physical Requirements for Essential Job Functions Must be able to transport and/or lift an object intermittently throughout the workday up to a maximum of 20 pounds. Must be able to walk, stand, and work for extended periods of time without relief. Must possess dexterity of arms, hands, and fingers bilaterally. Must be able to work with hands for up to 12 hours a day. Must be able to push/pull carts weighing up to 200 pounds. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so the requirements of this position can be fully met.
