Category Pharmacy-Pharmacist in Charge Job Type Contract To Hire A specialty retail pharmacy is seeking an Interim Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to oversee pharmacy operations and manage a dedicated team of two pharmacy technicians. This contract-to-hire opportunity offers the chance to transition into a permanent position based on performance and fit.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00
PM Location:
Theodore, AL Responsibilities:
Lead daily pharmacy operations within a specialty dermatology-focused setting Ensure accurate dispensing of medications, including nonsterile compounding of creams and gels Supervise and coordinate pharmacy technicians to maintain high standards of patient care and safety Collaborate closely with dermatology providers to streamline medication management for patients Maintain compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements
Qualifications:
Minimum 1-2 years experience as a Pharmacy Manager or Pharmacist in Charge Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage team members Experience with dermatology pharmacy practices is a plus but not required Competency in nonsterile compounding of creams and gels is advantageous Familiarity with New Leaf pharmacy system is beneficial, though training can be provided This role offers a manageable patient volume, with patients primarily referred to the pharmacy by in-house dermatology providers. The start date is flexible within 1-2 weeks, with an initial 13-week contract and potential for permanent placement.
