Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Direct Hire A 359-bed, Level 1 trauma and teaching hospital specializing in pediatric care is seeking a licensed pharmacist to join its dedicated team. This facility is recognized as one of the top pediatric medical providers nationally and is the only pediatric medical center in the state, operating a modern, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.
Schedule:
8-hour day shifts Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30
PM Responsibilities:
Compound and dispense medications according to physicians' orders. Consult with medical staff on drug interactions, patient histories, and medication usage. Provide accurate medication and dosage information to patients. Maintain comprehensive pharmacy records and ensure compliance with regulatory and hospital standards. Verify dose appropriateness relative to pediatric patient factors such as diagnosis, weight, and age. Identify and intervene in drug therapy issues, including allergies and adverse reactions. Recommend effective and cost-efficient drug therapies. Evaluate and manage non-formulary drug requests. Ensure proper medication preparation, labeling, and dispensing. Prioritize and process medication orders efficiently. Monitor patients' therapeutic outcomes and collaborate with healthcare providers. Participate in patient education, staff training, and discharge planning. Conduct drug information services and drug utilization reviews. Manage medication purchasing, inventory control, and supplier communication.
Qualifications:
Current Arkansas pharmacist license Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience IV therapy experience or IV certification required Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) preferred
