Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract A clinical pharmacist is needed to provide interim coverage in a hospital setting located in Forrest City, AR. This contract role offers an excellent opportunity to apply your skills in a supportive acute care environment with a focus on med-surg, ICU, and women's health specialties. The position requires a flexible commitment of three days per week with a schedule to be determined in collaboration with the Director of Pharmacy.

Monday through
Thursday:
8:00 AM - 5:30
PM Friday:
8:00 AM - 1:00 PM No weekend or on-call responsibilities
Qualifications & Experience:
Current Arkansas pharmacist license required Hospital pharmacy experience preferred Proficiency in order verification and IV compounding Experience overseeing pharmacy technicians beneficial Familiarity with Medhost order entry system (onsite training provided) Pyxis ES automation experience is a plus but not mandatory
Responsibilities:
Verify medication orders accurately and efficiently Perform IV medication compounding as needed Provide supervision and oversight of pharmacy technicians Collaborate with technicians who handle Pyxis refills, medication expiration checks, crash cart maintenance, and unit dose inspections Participate in 2-3 days of orientation prior to starting This contract role extends for at least two months or until a permanent pharmacist is hired, providing stability and a collaborative work setting with one full-time pharmacist and one technician supporting daily pharmacy operations.
