Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Direct Hire A hospital with 359 beds, recognized as a leading pediatric trauma center and teaching facility, is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join its progressive and collaborative team. This state-of-the-art medical center serves as the only pediatric medical center in its state and ranks among the largest pediatric providers nationally. The role offers day shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, fostering a dynamic work environment focused on high standards of patient care and pharmaceutical practice.

Key Responsibilities:

Compound and dispense prescribed medications accurately according to physician instructions. Consult with medical staff regarding drug interactions, patient history, and medication use. Address patient inquiries concerning medication and dosage. Maintain pharmacy data records while adhering to regulatory and security guidelines. Verify dosing appropriateness relative to patient diagnosis, weight, age, and body surface area. Identify and intervene in issues related to drug therapy including allergies and adverse drug reactions. Evaluate and recommend drug therapies, including cost-effective alternatives. Ensure all medications meet quality standards with proper labeling and preparation. Prioritize and process medication orders efficiently and timely. Participate in patient care areas, monitoring therapeutic outcomes and advising healthcare providers. Educate patients, pharmacy staff, and students; engage in discharge planning. Manage drug information requests and drug utilization reviews. Coordinate medication supply, manage back orders, and substitute items as needed. Assist with inventory control and departmental duties as required.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Licensed to practice pharmacy in Arkansas. Minimum of two years inpatient pharmacy experience preferred. Experience or certification in IV therapy preferred. Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) designation is a plus. Recent graduates with strong potential are encouraged to apply.
