Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract Provide clinical pharmacy expertise in an acute care hospital setting with a focus on med-surg, ICU, and women's health. This contract opportunity calls for a licensed Arkansas pharmacist to serve as an Interim Pharmacist for approximately two months or until a permanent hire is secured. The schedule is flexible within the following coverage window: Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., no weekend or on-call duties required.
Key Responsibilities:
Verify medication orders ensuring accuracy and compliance Perform intravenous (IV) compounding and preparation according to hospital protocols Supervise and provide oversight to pharmacy technicians to maintain smooth workflow Collaborate with health care team members in a fast-paced acute care environment Utilize Medhost order entry system, with onsite training available Oversee medication distribution through Pyxis ES automated system (experience not required)
Desired Qualifications:
Current pharmacy license in Arkansas required Hospital pharmacy experience preferred, especially in acute care settings Competence in order verification, IV compounding, and technician supervision Ability to adapt to clinical priorities and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams

Forrest City, Arkansas (within a local hospital environment)
Additional Details:
2 to 3 days of orientation and training to familiarize with site systems and protocols Pharmacy support staff assist with Pyxis refills, medication expiration checks, crash cart maintenance, and unit dose management This contract role offers a unique opportunity to apply clinical skills in a supportive setting while working a stable weekday schedule.
