Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract An ongoing contract opportunity is available for an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist to provide essential support to hospital pharmacy operations. This role requires working approximately 2-4 days per week based on coverage needs at a hospital located in Winslow, AZ.

Pharmacy Hours:
6:30 AM - 4:30 PM daily

July Responsibilities:
Verify inpatient medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and safety considerations Review dosages, allergies, drug interactions, contraindications, and renal/hepatic dose adjustments Enter and process medication orders using Cerner electronic health record system Manage medication distribution and troubleshoot via Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets Review and monitor antibiotic therapies, including specialized vancomycin dosing Provide clinical consultation and medication recommendations to physicians, nurses, and staff Monitor patient medication therapies and proactively identify safety concerns Support medication reconciliation and ensure formulary compliance Assist with inventory management and controlled substances procedures Maintain compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, and pharmacy standards
Qualifications:
Current Arizona Pharmacist license in good standing Prior experience in inpatient or hospital pharmacy settings required Proficiency with Cerner and Pyxis systems strongly preferred Clinical knowledge of inpatient medication dosing and pharmacy best practices Experience with vancomycin dosing and monitoring is a plus Strong interpersonal, communication, and clinical problem-solving skills Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams Availability to attend mandatory training sessions during late July This contract role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute clinical pharmacy expertise in a dynamic inpatient setting.
