Outpatient Pharmacist - FT (40)

Position Summary Under the general supervision of the Outpatient Pharmacy Manager and in collaboration with pharmacy, clinic, and hospital leadership, the Outpatient Pharmacist is responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and compliant daily operations of Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center's outpatient pharmacy. This position provides pharmacist oversight for prescription processing, verification, dispensing, patient counseling, workflow support, regulatory compliance, and continuity of care services. The Outpatient Pharmacist assists the Outpatient Pharmacy Manager with implementation of pharmacy policies, staff support, quality initiatives, operational monitoring, and day-to-day problem solving. This position also serves as a clinical pharmacy resource for outpatient clinic initiatives, including prior authorization support, medication access assistance, medication-related follow-up, provider and clinic collaboration, and other ambulatory clinical projects that improve patient outcomes and access to therapy. The Outpatient Pharmacist supports compliant outpatient pharmacy processes related to the 340B Drug Pricing Program, including workflow adherence, documentation standards, diversion prevention, duplicate discount prevention, and audit readiness in accordance with organizational policy and regulatory expectations. Required Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited school of pharmacy (proof of highest level of education completed). Current Arizona pharmacist license in good standing required. Minimum of one year of pharmacist experience required; outpatient, retail, ambulatory, or hospital experience preferred. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form required. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, professionalism, and within regulatory standards. Professional appearance and demeanor required. Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, reach, and stretch using good body mechanics for sustained periods of time required. Mental and physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications Experience in outpatient, ambulatory, retail, or hospital pharmacy operations preferred. Knowledge of pharmacy claims adjudication, third-party billing, point-of-sale workflow, and inventory management preferred. Knowledge of prior authorization processes, medication access workflows, and clinic-based medication support activities Knowledge of 340B program operations, split-billing concepts, and outpatient compliance workflows Previous Meditech experience or other related electronic medical record systems preferred. Understanding of pharmacy computer systems, process design, and data management. Basic knowledge of application implementation, enhancement, development, and support methods and practices. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with providers, clinic staff, pharmacy staff, and patients. English proficiency with excellent written and verbal fluency.
