Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Contract An ongoing contract opportunity is available for an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist to support hospital pharmacy operations in Winslow, Arizona. This role involves providing coverage approximately 2-4 days per week, assisting with medication management, and collaborating closely with clinical teams to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Pharmacy Hours:
6:30 AM-4:30 PM daily
Training:
Provided during the last two weeks of
July Responsibilities:
Verify inpatient medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and patient safety Review dosages, allergies, drug interactions, contraindications, and necessary dose adjustments Enter and process medication orders using Cerner system Manage and troubleshoot medication distribution via Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets Review and monitor antibiotic therapies, including vancomycin dosing protocols Respond to medication-related inquiries from physicians, nurses, and clinical staff Provide clinical recommendations on medication selection and dosing Monitor patient medication therapy for potential safety issues Support medication reconciliation and maintain formulary compliance Assist with inventory management, controlled substances, and medication availability Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, and pharmacy standards
Qualifications:
Active Arizona Pharmacist license in good standing Prior experience in inpatient or hospital pharmacy settings required Familiarity with Cerner and Pyxis systems strongly preferred Knowledge of inpatient medication dosing and clinical pharmacy practices Experience with vancomycin dosing and monitoring is an advantage Excellent communication, clinical judgment, and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team Availability to complete scheduled training in late July This ongoing contract position offers the chance to contribute to quality inpatient pharmacy care while working a flexible schedule.
