Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Direct Hire A leading non-profit health system serving Santa Barbara County is seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Oncology to join their dynamic team. This unique opportunity offers a blend of inpatient and outpatient infusion responsibilities in a beautiful coastal setting known for its exceptional weather and lifestyle. This direct hire position focuses on providing expert clinical pharmacy services within oncology programs, serving as an essential resource for both inpatient and outpatient oncology care. The ideal candidate will bring advanced clinical expertise and a passion for improving patient outcomes in a collaborative healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive medication management, including ordering laboratory tests, therapy selection, and monitoring for adverse events. Verify chemotherapy orders and protocols to ensure accuracy, dosage appropriateness, and patient safety. Educate patients and caregivers on treatment regimens, side effect management, and medication adherence strategies. Collaborate closely with providers and nursing staff during clinical rounds to support treatment decisions. Participate in clinical trials, handle investigational drug management, and contribute to the development of institutional oncology protocols and guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience:
PharmD or BS in Pharmacy Eligibility to obtain a California pharmacist license (license need not be in hand at application) PGY2 residency or fellowship in oncology OR completed PGY1 plus three years as a clinical specialist in oncology OR five years' oncology clinical specialist experience Board certification in oncology (BCOP) preferred

Monday to Friday, day shifts
