The Pharmacist in Charge will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, including managing and supervising pharmacy staff, coordinating, and supervising daily activities of pharmacy staff, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations. They will also be responsible for developing a team of highly capable supervisors and staff through recruiting and interviewing candidates that have a passion for patient and customer-centered care. The Pharmacist in Charge will also maintain appropriate information systems to optimize pharmacy workflow and ensure that policies and procedures are updated and followed in coordination with ownership and other pharmacy managers. Additionally, the Pharmacist in Charge will assist with budget preparation and ongoing cost containment initiatives for medication use and assure compliance with departmental productivity targets. It's a challenging and rewarding role that requires a combination of leadership, clinical, and business skills.

Responsibilities:

 Manage and supervise Pharmacy operations including responsibility for implementing company policy and practice at the store level and overseeing day- to-day operations and workflow of the pharmacy.  Assist in the planning, development, organization, operation, and evaluation of pharmacy services; assesses and changes pharmacy operations in coordination with Ownership.  Assist in maintaining appropriate information systems to optimize pharmacy workflow.  Assure pharmacy staff development, new employee orientation, and ongoing training in the pharmacy in coordination with other pharmacy managers.  Help ensure that policies and procedures are updated and followed in coordination with ownership and other pharmacy managers.  Assure compliance with pharmacy laws and provide staff guidance when appropriate in regard to regulatory agencies. Participates in quality assurance activities to evaluate and maintain safe medication practices.  Assist with budget preparation and ongoing cost containment initiatives for medication use and operations; provides other management reports as required.  Assure compliance with departmental productivity targets and assist with staff scheduling.

Skills:

 Proven experience as a Pharmacist in Charge.  Thorough understanding of the Business of Independent Pharmacy  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Strong organizational and leadership skills.  Ability to multitask and work under pressure.  Attention to detail and accuracy.  Knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations.  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
