Collaborate with healthcare professionals across departments such as
ICU, PICU
(Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), Oncology, Emergency Room, and Trauma Centers to optimize medication management strategies. Prepare and compound sterile and non-sterile medications using aseptic techniques and IV infusion protocols while maintaining strict quality control. Monitor patient responses to medication therapies, adjusting dosages as necessary to maximize efficacy and minimize adverse effects. Ensure compliance with all pharmaceutical regulatory requirements, including drug regulation laws and hospital policies related to pharmacy practice. Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems for documentation, medication ordering, patient data management, and clinical decision support. Precept pharmacy residents and students, fostering professional growth through education on pharmacotherapeutics, hospital medicine, critical care practices, and medication safety. Participate in hospital pharmacy operations such as inventory management, drug regulation updates, and pharmacy information systems (PIS) maintenance. Support acute pain management initiatives and oncology medication protocols with specialized knowledge of pharmacology and physiology. Qualifications Valid pharmacist license in the relevant jurisdiction with practicing experience as a licensed pharmacist. Post-residency experience in hospital pharmacy or clinical settings demonstrating expertise in acute care environments including ICU or emergency room experience. Proven experience in managed care environments with knowledge of drug regulation and pharmaceutical compliance standards. Strong background in hospital medicine, critical care (ICU/PICU), trauma centers (Level I/II), oncology, pediatrics, and pain management. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS) for efficient medication management. Demonstrated ability to perform patient assessments accurately using medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, pharmacology principles, and physiology understanding. Skilled in aseptic technique for IV compounding and infusion therapies while maintaining sterile environment standards. Excellent communication skills for patient service delivery and interdisciplinary collaboration; experience in precepting students or residents is preferred. Knowledge of acute pain management protocols and emergency response procedures within hospital settings.
