Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Per Diem This per diem opportunity is designed for a clinical pharmacist with inpatient and compounding experience who is able to support an 18-bed med-surgery unit and a 10-bed emergency department. The position requires working Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with weekend and after-hours on-call availability.
Key Responsibilities:
Verify and review medication orders to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and patient safety. Compound sterile medications including IV admixtures and unit dose forms; no chemo or hazardous drugs at this location. Provide clinical monitoring and therapeutic recommendations to medical and nursing staff. Respond to emergency room codes as needed. Maintain regulatory compliance with hospital policies, state, and federal laws, including sterile compounding standards. Assist with restocking Pyxis machines at two family health centers in the community.
Qualifications:
Active and clear California Pharmacist License. Minimum of 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience. Compounding experience required. Familiarity with CPSI/Evident and Pyxis software preferred; training available if needed. Experience working as the sole pharmacist in a clinical setting preferred. Commitment to fulfill on-call responsibilities during weekends and after hours.

A dedicated pharmacy technician working PRN is available to increase to full-time during the assignment, supporting inventory and data entry tasks to optimize workflow. Travel expenses are passed through as part of the assignment.
