Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. An opportunity is available for a Licensed Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient services in the Los Angeles area. This role begins with full-time hours for about one month, transitioning into a flexible, PRN schedule. The position focuses on assisting with IV compounding, medication preparation, and managing automated dispensing systems in a hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities:
Accurately perform IV compounding and preparation of medications Manage inventory and medication dispensing through Pyxis automation system Support order entry processes using Paragon/Allscripts systems Collaborate with pharmacy staff to ensure efficient workflow during rotating shifts Provide coverage during varying shifts: 07:30-16:00, 12:00-20:30, and weekend shifts 08:00-16:30
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid and active California Pharmacy Technician license required Experience with inpatient pharmacy operations and IV compounding Proficiency with Pyxis automated dispensing systems Familiarity with order entry systems such as Paragon or Allscripts Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety Ability to work flexible shift schedules including weekends This role supports a licensed facility with 117 beds and an average daily census of approximately 44 patients, providing an engaging environment for a skilled pharmacy technician.
Contract Details:
Full-time hours (40 hours/week) for approximately 4 weeks, followed by PRN availability Shift rotations with other pharmacy technicians to maintain consistent coverage This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacy technician seeking a local assignment with initial full-time hours and ongoing PRN flexibility.
