Job Description
Where You'll Work Mercy Medical Center Redding offers comprehensive health care to nearly 300,000 residents in a six-county region. It is one of only two Level II trauma centers, the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the only Joint Commission-certified Advanced Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center north of Sacramento north of Sacramento. Mercy Medical Center Redding is a 266-bed regional medical center providing inpatient and outpatient services as well as specialized cardiovascular care, stroke care, orthopedics, neurological surgery, comprehensive cancer care, maternity care, and a robust robotic surgery program. One California Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Pharmacist, you'll help our doctors and nurses safely prescribe and dispense medications to help our patients feel better and recover from their illness or injury.
Every day you will meticulously review every prescription in your queue for safety, critically assessing for potential drug interactions, correct dosing, patient allergies, or any irregularities. You'll then authorize prescriptions for the pharmacy technician, performing a final check before dispensing medication to the nursing station, ensuring expert oversight in every process.
To excel in this role, you must enjoy learning new concepts and researching information in real-time to provide solutions for real people. You should also continually look for ways to go above and beyond for your patients, delivering an exceptional experience along with exceptional care. Promotes long and short-range planning to respond and integrate within the market, Region, and system. Works collaboratively with pharmacy peers to standardize clinical pharmacy systems when appropriate Works, as directed by facility pharmacy leadership, on developing, coaching and mentoring pharmacy staff to maximize their scope of practice in the provision of clinical pharmacy services and scholarly activities across the continuum of care. Educates the medical staff regarding cost-effective, quality pharmaceutical care based on evidence based medicine and best practices. Participates in assigned committees relevant to their knowledge, experience and practice area Assures that clinical pharmacy initiatives are in compliance with regulatory requirements. We are offering a sign-on bonus in addition to relocation to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.
