Category Pharmacy - Clinical Pharmacist Job Type Per Diem A part-time opportunity is available for a Clinical Pharmacist with infusion expertise to support a home infusion pharmacy site in the Turlock, CA area. This role requires 2-3 days per week of on-site work with weekday shifts from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Ideal candidates will reside in nearby cities such as Modesto, Stockton, or Merced and bring solid experience in IV/Infusion clinical pharmacy operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate and verify physician/prescriber prescription orders regarding dosage, drug selection, administration route, and potential interactions. Ensure patient records are comprehensive, including height, weight, medical history, laboratory results, and concurrent medications. Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations and accrediting bodies by managing requisite documentation. Order and interpret clinical laboratory tests, collaborating with nurses and physicians to optimize medication safety and efficacy. Provide clinical and technical support to healthcare teams and assist in policy implementation. Supervise sterile compounding and quality assurance, including validation and environmental testing. Oversee training for pharmacy technicians, interns, and laboratory staff. Document communications with healthcare professionals and caregivers thoroughly. Promote safe pharmacy practices and deliver drug therapy education to patients and caregivers.
Qualifications:
Valid California pharmacist license in good standing. Strong background in IV/Infusion and clinical pharmacy; home infusion pharmacy experience highly preferred. Proficiency with CareTend pharmacy system is a plus. This per diem position offers an ongoing engagement starting ASAP, ideal for pharmacists seeking flexibility and clinical challenge in a supportive team environment.
