Pharmacy Resident, Full Time, 10 Hour, Variable Shift

The Pharmacy Resident shall train to serve as a competent clinical pharmacist capable of practicing in multiple settings alone and as a multi-disciplinary team member with pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other paramedical personnel. He/she shall provide clinical services involving Pharmacokinetics, TPN, Anticoagulation, and Critical Care Medicine employing pharmaceutical care precepts. He/she shall provide Ambulatory Care Pharmacy services to patients at PIH Medication Management Clinic and Family Practice Center including: Disease Management Clinic services, provision of drug information services to patients, physicians, and Family Practice clinic staff. He/she shall conduct Drug Utilization Evaluations (DUE's), Quality Improvement projects, Performance Improvement projects, provide continuing education lectures, and prepare the Pharmacy Newsletter. He/she shall complete an approved project for presentation at the Western States' Residency Conference. He/she shall successfully complete the Goals and Objectives outlined by ASHP for the Residency Program. Possess the ability to write and relate medication information in a clear, concise, and professional manner as is appropriate for the Pharmacy Newsletter. Possess the ability to critically think, gain knowledge of medication related policies/protocols utilized in a given setting, evidence of continuous professional training, excellent computer, and ability to prioritize is required.

Required Experience Education:

Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy recognized by the California State Board of Pharmacy, possesses a PharmD degree, and must have registered for or taken the necessary pharmacist licensure exams and have licensure pending. Become a California Registered Pharmacist by October 1 st of the residency year and maintain licensure in good standing. Must have a current BLS Healthcare Provider CPR Card from the American Heart Association.

Experience:
