Category Pharmacy-Pharmacist in Charge Job Type Contract A skilled Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) is needed to oversee pharmacy operations and provide direct patient care at a 36-bed rehabilitation hospital in Ellendale, DE. This contract position requires a dedicated professional to staff the pharmacy 40 hours per week, ensuring efficient medication management and compliance.
Responsibilities :
Serve as Pharmacist in Charge, overseeing all pharmacy activities and regulatory compliance. Provide direct pharmacy services including dispensing, verification, and medication order review. Manage daily staffing, supervising one technician per shift. Utilize Wellsky pharmacy information system for medication management. Operate Pyxis automation system effectively. Perform IV compounding duties (non-chemotherapy). Support weekend, after-hours, and on-call coverage as needed to maintain continuous pharmacy operations. Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient care in a rehab hospital setting. Qualifications /
Desired Experience :
Valid pharmacist license in the state. Previous experience as Pharmacist in Charge preferred. Proficient with Wellsky pharmacy information system and Pyxis automation. Skilled in sterile IV compounding (non-chemo). Ability to supervise pharmacy staff and manage workflows. Strong communication and organizational skills. Experience working in a hospital or rehab environment a plus.
