Category Pharmacy-Pharmacist in Charge Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for a Pharmacist/Pharmacy Manager to oversee pharmacy operations at a 36-bed rehabilitation hospital. This contract position is based in the Lewes, DE area, with a start date expected as soon as possible. The role requires a licensed Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) who can provide both leadership and hands-on pharmacy staffing.
Responsibilities:
Manage daily pharmacy operations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Provide direct pharmacist staffing coverage, including dispensing and medication verification. Oversee one pharmacy technician per shift while collaborating with a small team of pharmacists and technicians. Utilize well-established systems such as Wellsky for pharmacy information management and Pyxis for automated dispensing. Perform IV compounding duties (non-chemotherapy). Participate in weekend, after-hours, and on-call rotation as needed to maintain pharmacy coverage.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Active pharmacist license with credentials to serve as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC). Strong background in pharmacy management and team leadership. Experience with rehabilitation or hospital pharmacy preferred. Proficient in pharmacy information systems, particularly Wellsky. Familiarity with Pyxis automated dispensing technology. Competent in IV compounding, with no chemotherapy compounding required.

Lewes, DE area (serving Georgetown rehabilitation hospital)
Pharmacy Hours:
