Job Description

Job Summary The Staff Pharmacist is a vital member of the healthcare team, responsible for ensuring the safe and effective use of medications. This role involves providing pharmaceutical care to patients, managing pharmacy operations, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. The Staff Pharmacist will also be involved in compounding medications, immunization services, and educating patients about their medications. Duties Review and interpret prescriptions to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of therapy. Dispense medications and provide drug information to patients and healthcare providers. Monitor patient medication therapy for safety and efficacy, making recommendations as necessary. Perform compounding of medications as required, adhering to aseptic techniques. Manage inventory levels, including ordering and restocking medications and supplies. Collaborate with pharmacy technicians to ensure efficient pharmacy operations. Provide immunization services in accordance with state regulations. Educate patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions. Maintain accurate records of all pharmacy activities in compliance with regulatory standards. Skills Proficiency in pharmacy software for prescription processing and inventory management. Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to pharmaceuticals. Experience in compounding medications with a focus on aseptic technique. Knowledge of clinical pharmacy practices and patient care protocols. Familiarity with pediatric medication management and considerations. Ability to work effectively with pharmacy technicians in a team-oriented environment. Skills in medical management for optimizing patient medication regimens. Certification or experience in immunization practices is highly desirable. This position requires a commitment to excellence in patient care and the ability to adapt to the dynamic environment of a pharmacy setting.
