Category Pharmacy-Pharmacist in Charge Job Type Contract This role calls for an experienced pharmacy leader to serve as Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge at a healthcare facility in Clewiston, Florida. The position involves leading inpatient pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards, and overseeing pharmacy services until an internal hire is made.

Key Responsibilities include:

Providing pharmacy leadership and management, with a focus on regulatory and compliance adherence. Preparing for The Joint Commission inspections and facilitating ongoing readiness. Managing limited weekday staffing, including supervising pharmacy technicians and pharmacists. Overseeing sterile compounding processes, primarily conducted by pharmacy technicians. Collaborating with medical staff through Clinical Pharmacy Agreements (CPA) utilizing CPSI order entry system. Supporting various specialty areas such as acute care ICU, outpatient infusion, surgery, and medical-surgical units.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Active Florida Pharmacist and Consultant Licenses are mandatory. At least 3 years of pharmacy management experience, preferably in inpatient acute care settings. Familiarity with TJC standards and preparation processes. Experience or willingness to learn CPSI order entry system and Omnicell automation. Leadership skills to manage a team comprising 3 pharmacy technicians, one full-time pharmacist, and 4 PRN pharmacists.

Schedule and Location Details:

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to approximately 4:30-5:00 p.m. No weekend shifts required. Onsite training starts April 1st, with official Pharmacist in Charge coverage beginning April 6th. Fort Myers and Palm Beach airports serve as nearest travel hubs. Local candidates are strongly preferred; however, timely availability is prioritized.

Additional Information:

Dress code is standard business attire. The facility has not undergone an annual Board of Pharmacy inspection recently and is currently within the TJC inspection window. Training and support will be provided by onsite staff. Nearby accommodations include Hampton Inn for travelers.
