Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A PRN pharmacist position is available at an Indian Health Clinic, reporting directly to the Chief Health Officer. This role supports all daily pharmacy operations, working collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication management. Key responsibilities include reviewing and verifying prescriptions for accuracy and safety, preparing and dispensing medications in accordance with regulatory standards, and verifying the correct filling of MedBoxes. The pharmacist will counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and potential interactions, as well as perform medication reconciliation to maintain accurate patient medication histories. Managing medication therapy for patients with chronic conditions and monitoring for drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications are essential duties. The pharmacist will also oversee the work of pharmacy technicians, providing guidance on prescription filling, inventory management, and operational workflows. Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations is critical to this role.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid pharmacist license Experience in clinical or community pharmacy settings Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and standards Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members Experience with medication therapy management and reconciliation Leadership skills to supervise pharmacy technicians

Fort Lauderdale, Florida Dress code for this position is scrubs or business casual attire (excluding all black). This is a contract role with flexible scheduling based on clinic needs.
