Duties Dispense prescriptions accurately while adhering to all state and federal pharmacy laws, including USP 797 standards for sterile compounding. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapies, including pediatrics and acute care cases. Manage pharmacy operations efficiently, overseeing inventory management, medication compounding, and ensuring proper storage and handling of pharmaceuticals. Provide clinical consultation on pain management, medical management, immunizations, and drug regulation compliance to healthcare teams and patients. Lead pharmacy teams by managing staff schedules, training technicians in aseptic techniques and pharmacy software systems, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Ensure strict adherence to healthcare compliance policies such as HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies during all patient interactions. Utilize Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, and other pharmacy software to document patient care activities accurately. Qualifications Valid pharmacist license in good standing with current state and federal pharmacy laws knowledge. Extensive experience practicing as a pharmacist in hospital or community settings, including LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy experience preferred. Critical care experience with proficiency in IV infusion, IV insertion, aseptic technique, and compounding medications using USP 797 guidelines. Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, medical terminology, and healthcare compliance standards. Demonstrated ability to lead pharmacy teams effectively while managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as immunizations or pain management are advantageous.
