Job Description

We're hiring a licensed Pharmacist for a contract position in Panama City, FL. The clinical pharmacist practices with adherence to professional ethics and the organization's mission. The pharmacist is responsible for safe, effective, evidence-based, and cost-effective medication selection and utilization. The role includes participation as a patient advocate within multidisciplinary rounding teams and collaboration with other healthcare professionals. Medication safety and regulatory compliance guide daily practice.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current pharmacist licensure in Florida. PharmD or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy. Recent acute care hospital experience required. Experience with Meditech documentation systems. Experience using Pyxis ES automated dispensing systems and ability to troubleshoot Pyxis issues. Experience with sterile preparations, USP 797 & 800 guidelines and parenteral nutrition (TPN) calculations. Experience with pharmaceutical calculations and pharmacokinetic dosing of aminoglycosides and vancomycin. Ability to accurately prepare and verify pediatric oral and intravenous solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
BLS and ACLS certifications preferred but not required. NICU/PICU/Pediatrics experience is a plus. Experience with chemotherapy preparation (limited) preferred.
Assignment Details Shift hours:
09:30 AM - 08:00 PM. Schedule includes 10-hour shifts, rotating weekends, 40 hours per week. Facility uses Meditech Magic for documentation. Pyxis ES cabinets used throughout the hospital. Your main point of contact by text, phone, or email 100% Paid Housing Available Travel and License Reimbursement Impacting Patient Care The clinical pharmacist verifies computerized physician order entry (CPOE) orders for accuracy, interprets medication orders, prepares and dispenses medications including sterile and parenteral nutrition preparations, and develops or executes drug therapy management protocols such as pharmacokinetics, anticoagulation dosing, IV to PO conversion, pain management, and antimicrobial stewardship. The pharmacist issues controlled substances per law and policy, detects and reports adverse drug reactions and medication errors, and participates in performance appraisal and supervision of pharmacy support personnel. The city is adjacent to the Gulf of Mexico with miles of public beaches and St. Andrews State Park under a 20-minute drive from central Panama City.
