As the key leader of the pharmacy team, you will oversee medication management, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and deliver exceptional patient care. Responsibilities Manage daily pharmacy operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to all regulatory standards including HIPAA and state pharmacy laws Supervise and support pharmacy staff, including pharmacy technicians, fostering a motivated and compliant team environment Oversee medication dispensing processes, including compounding medications and preparing IV infusions with aseptic technique Conduct patient assessments to optimize medication therapy, including in LTC (Long-Term Care), critical care, pediatrics, and acute care settings Utilize pharmacy software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for accurate documentation and inventory management Ensure proper inventory control, including stock levels of medications, especially in specialized areas such as pain management and immunizations Lead medical management initiatives by collaborating with healthcare providers on medication administration plans and patient care strategies Maintain compliance with all safety protocols related to IV insertion, aseptic techniques, physiology knowledge, anatomy knowledge, and medication administration procedures Facilitate immunization programs and provide patient education on medication use and health management Oversee the training of pharmacy staff on medical terminology, hospital procedures, and pharmacy technician responsibilities Experience Proven experience working in LTC pharmacy or hospital settings with a strong background in acute care environments Critical care experience is highly desirable to manage complex medication therapies effectively Completion of a pharmacy residency program demonstrating advanced clinical skills and patient service expertise Extensive clinical pharmacy experience with a focus on patient assessment, medical management, pain management, and pediatrics Hands-on experience with pharmacy software systems, EMR/EHR platforms, inventory management tools, and aseptic technique procedures Demonstrated ability to lead a team within a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy and safety Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medication administration protocols necessary for comprehensive patient care Experience with immunizations administration and IV insertion techniques is preferred Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality and security of patient information Join us in delivering outstanding pharmaceutical care while leading a passionate team committed to improving patient health.
