- Closed-Door Pharmacy Ankeny, IA A growing, multi-state closed-door pharmacy organization is hiring a Staff Pharmacist for its Ankeny, Iowa location.
The role operates on a 7-on/7-off rotating schedule with strong automation and technology support, and functions with a high degree of day-to-day autonomy. The pharmacy serves patient and facility clients and is known for strong employee retention. Schedule 7 days on, 7 days off rotation. Weekday shifts run 3:00 PM to 2:00 AM. Weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday) run 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. On-call support is part of the rotation. Onsite in Ankeny, IA. Compensation $130,000
Commensurate with experience. What You'll Do As Staff Pharmacist, you will perform prescription verification, order entry, and clinical review in a closed-door pharmacy environment serving patient and facility clients. You will provide on-call support during your rotation and serve as a direct resource for patient and facility inquiries. Working with pharmacy automation systems is a consistent part of the workflow, and limited fulfillment support may be required as operational needs arise. This is an autonomous role with minimal direct supervision during shifts. You will be expected to manage your verification queue independently, maintain accuracy and compliance standards, and communicate effectively with patients, facilities, and internal team members as needed. Required Qualifications Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.
D.) degree from an ACPE-accredited program Active Pharmacist license in Iowa, or eligibility to obtain Iowa licensure prior to start date Strong prescription verification skills and accuracy in a high-volume environment Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision Comfort working with pharmacy automation systems Preferred Qualifications Experience in a closed-door, mail-order, specialty, or long-term care pharmacy setting Familiarity with pharmacy automation and dispensing technology platforms Experience providing telephonic or remote patient and facility support Multi-state pharmacist licensure Compensation and Benefits Compensation commensurate with experience Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) Paid time off 7-on/7-off schedule providing every other week off To apply, submit your resume through this posting.
