Job Description

RPh on the Go is seeking an experienced Retail Pharmacist for a full-time, 13-week contract based in Dubuque, Iowa . This pharmacist will float between several pharmacy locations throughout the surrounding area, supporting both high-volume and rural retail settings.
Term of Assignment:
13 weeks
Start:
ASAP Schedule:
Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturday coverage as needed
Hours:
8:00 AM-5:00 PM or 9:00 AM-6:00
PM Saturday Hours:
Half-day shifts when required
Pharmacy Software:
McKesson Enterprise Floating Locations:
The pharmacist will primarily be based in Dubuque and may float to: Dubuque, IA Bellevue, IA
  • approximately 30 minutes from Dubuque Monticello, IA
  • approximately 40 minutes from Dubuque Preston, IA
  • approximately 50 minutes from Dubuque Independence, IA

Dubuque Pharmacy Environment:
Dubuque is the busiest location, filling approximately 2,800-3,000 prescriptions per week . The surrounding rural locations average approximately 600 prescriptions per week .
Job Duties:
Accurately dispense medications while ensuring safe and efficient service to patients Counsel patients regarding medications, proper use, potential interactions, and treatment regimens Respond professionally to patient questions, concerns, and complaints Maintain appropriate medication inventory and controlled substance records Assist with inventory management and stock maintenance Resolve prescription and patient-related issues Research and clarify third-party insurance and coverage concerns Maintain compliance with pharmacy policies, procedures, and applicable regulations Adapt to varying prescription volumes and workflows across multiple pharmacy locations
Requirements:
Clear and active Iowa Pharmacist license Iowa temporary pharmacist license accepted Minimum 1 year of retail pharmacy experience Comfortable working in a high-volume retail pharmacy environment Ability and willingness to travel between the assigned Iowa pharmacy locations Strong patient counseling, communication, and problem-solving skills
