Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A hospital in Iowa is seeking an experienced Travel Pharmacist for an immediate opening. This 13+ week assignment offers a consistent 7-on/7-off schedule, providing excellent work-life balance while gaining valuable inpatient experience across multiple units. The pharmacist will play a key role in supporting overnight operations and ensuring safe, effective medication use throughout the facility.
Responsibilities:
Perform order verification and ensure accurate medication dispensing Supervise and support pharmacy technicians during overnight shifts Provide pharmacokinetic dosing and clinical recommendations Consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding medication therapies Support pharmacy services across all hospital units, including critical care Ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety standards
Qualifications:
Active Iowa Pharmacist License (required) 1+ years of recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience Experience or familiarity with critical care (CCU) patients preferred
Skills:
Proficiency with EPIC and Pyxis systems Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced hospital setting
