Moline, Illinois, United States Job Description Job Duties:

Under the general direction of the Manager of Pharmacy Inpatient Operations, evaluate physician orders for appropriateness, complete order verification, monitor medication effectiveness and safety, validate products prior to dispensing, and assist with inventory management. Provide patient care services and also serve as a resource for drug information to the medical and nursing staff. Responsible for oversite of Pharmacy Technicians working under the direction of the Pharmacist. Review medication orders and patient profiles for drug/drug and drug/allergy interactions and therapeutic duplications. Make recommendations to providers and documents interventions. Participate in monitoring medications for safety and effectiveness. Perform medication verification as required by law. Oversee technician preparation of medication orders including hospital compounded medications. Participate in product selection, procurement and receiving of pharmaceuticals. Provide medication related education and information to providers. Travel between Rock Island and Moline, IL and Bettendorf, IA is required.
