Job Description
Position Summary:
The Pharmacy Resident is responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of Pharmacy Department Services. The Pharmacy Resident supervises, monitors and teaches pharmacy techs and students in proper policies and procedures. Also completes rotations, projects and activities as outlined in the Pharmacy Residency Program Manual and as directed by the Residency Program Director, Pharmacy Clinical Supervisor and Pharmacy Manager.Minimum Qualifications:
Required Doctor of Pharmacy MT Pharmacist license within one year of hire American Heart Association BLS within one year of hire American Heart Association ACLS within one year of hire Preferred Participation in the ASHP National Matching Service Pharmacy rotations completed within a health-system setting Pharmacy internship within a health-systemEssential Job Functions:
In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements. Perform and verify all data entry as required by law (i.e., Meditech, Omni cell systems, etc.). Also supervise the data entry of the technicians. Oversee IV preparation and compounds admixtures (including chemotherapy). Additionally oversee stocking, data and control of inventory. Review physician orders and MARS prior to dispensing. Maintains a high level of alertness to administration of medications. Provides accurate drug information. Fill medication orders and closely supervise technician restocks. Verify technician activities concerning patient medications. Contribute and participate in pharmacy continued education. Active member of state and /or national pharmacy societies preferred. Ensure responsibilities and assignments are in accordance with the BDHS Pharmacy Residency Program manual. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong leadership managerial skills; ability to plan, delegate, monitor and improve work performance Demonstrates sound judgement, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills Creativity, problem analysis and decision making Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity and maintains confidentiality Computer applications, MS Office, EMR, internet applications and standard office equipment Schedule Requirements This role requires regular and sustained attendance. The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs. Physical Requirements Lifting (Repeatedly- 50 pounds): Exerting force occasionally and/or using a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects or people.
