Summary Job Description:
Rotating 10 hour days and evenings, every 3rd weekend. Clinical Staff Pharmacists are responsible and accountable for the provision of safe, effective, and prompt medication therapy. Through various assignments within the department, they provide support of centralized and decentralized medication use systems as well as deliver optimal medication therapy to patients with a broad range of disease states. All pharmacists are responsible for drug preparation and distribution for medications; evaluating, inputting and verification of medication orders; assisting providers and other health care professionals by serving as a drug information resource; monitoring and managing medication regimens per protocol or per consult; and managing pharmacy inventory. Pharmacy Operations and Activities Has a working knowledge of pharmacy operations including pharmacy operating system, use of patient records, purchasing, inventory and formulary management, automation, packaging, USP 797, USP 795, USP 800, and pharmaceutical waste. Clinical and patient care services, serves as a drug information expert and resource regarding medication management Medication Management and review Interprets and reviews medication orders for correct drug, dosage, route, frequency, allergies, therapeutic duplication, interactions, contraindications, and potential adverse events for all ages served Supervisory and production duties including technician oversight and assumes the role of supervisor in routine daily activities. Compliance and regulation of local, state, and federal regulations regarding pharmacy practice along with accrediting bodies medication management standards.
Requirements:
BS degree graduate of accredited College of Pharmacy Preferred hospital experience Kentucky Board of Pharmacy license in good standing as applicable to practice site ACLS (if required to attend codes) within 6 months Doctorate degree preferred
