Job Description

Well established, closed door pharmacy now seeking a full time LA licensed registered pharmacist to join our team. Our position will put you on a healthcare team of individuals working with other healthcare professionals to bring the best pharmaceutical care we can to patients of long term care facilities, assisted living facilities, acute care hospitals and group homes. We are a high volume "closed door facility" that is not open to the general public. We are an independently owned pharmacy where you have room to grow within our organization. We are a high paced pharmacy that is seeking individuals with a great sense of urgency and a desire to be the best. We are seeking Louisiana licensed pharmacist(s) who can: Process a higher than average number of prescriptions on a daily basis. Possess excellent people skills. Able to operate in a fast paced environment. Have the ability to work and communicate effectively and efficiently. Possess and execute exceptional telephone etiquette skills. Have proficient computer and pharmacy software skills. Have skills to adapt to changing work flow. Knowledge of Louisiana and federal laws governing drugs and pharmaceutical products. Working knowledge of 3rd party payers, claims adjudication and handling rejected claims. Possess an active Louisiana Pharmacist License in good standing and with no restrictions. Staff Pharmacist The Staff Pharmacist works under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager to assist in pharmacy operations by supporting the mission, vision, and values of the company. The pharmacists will provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care through filling prescriptions, providing clinical services, and working with nurses, Dr.'s and facility staff as well as patients and providing pharmacy counseling to patients. In addition, the pharmacists are responsible to maintain standards in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager and may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and duties of the Pharmacy Manager when needed. The Staff Pharmacist will be expected to: Assist in pharmacy operations to achieve business objectives. Help maintain inventory levels to company goals. Work with Pharmacy Manager to coordinate pharmacy schedule; assist with direction and monitoring of pharmacy personnel and performance. Assist in answering all phone calls made to the pharmacy. Perform all activities related to the preparation and dispensing of pharmaceutical products. Focus on customer satisfaction and needs, ensuring that customers are treated professionally and their needs are met in a timely fashion through excellent customer service with a great sense of urgency. Verifies accuracy of dispensing medication by following established procedures. Maintains proper pharmacy and general safety procedures and standards, including department cleanliness. Maintains all state and federal record keeping for legend drugs and controlled substances. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Educational and/or Professional Graduate from an accredited pharmacy college with a minimum Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree. Must have an active Louisiana pharmacy license in good standing with no restrictions.
Other important skills:
Self-motivated with the ability to complete work with a minimum of supervision under tight time frames (excellent sense of urgency). Ability to work a variety of schedules with "current" earliest availability of 6am and latest availability of 6pm . Must be available to work weekends (current rotation is every 4'th weekend) Must be organized & able to prioritize workload. Possess a general working knowledge of pharmacy software. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
