Northside Pharmacy and Soileau's Pharmacy are independent, community-focused pharmacies serving the Acadiana region. We are locally owned and operated with a strong commitment to personalized patient care and building real relationships with our patients and prescribers. We use PioneerRx at both locations to deliver efficient, high-quality pharmacy operations.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Float Staff Pharmacist will provide part-time coverage across both Northside Pharmacy and Soileau's Pharmacy as needed within our weekday hours of operation. This role requires a self-sufficient, adaptable pharmacist who can step into either location and maintain workflow continuity using PioneerRx. The ideal candidate is reliable, patient-focused, and comfortable operating independently in the community pharmacy setting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Dispensing & Verification Accurately verify and dispense prescription orders in compliance with Louisiana Board of Pharmacy regulations Perform final pharmacist verification for all outgoing prescriptions, including controlled substances Resolve DUR alerts, drug interactions, and clinical clarifications with prescribers as needed Navigate PioneerRx dispensing workflows efficiently at both locations Patient Care & Counseling Provide comprehensive medication counseling for new and refill prescriptions Handle patient questions and special requests with professionalism and empathy Support medication therapy reviews and clinical screenings as directed Administer immunizations and other programs Operations & Compliance Open or close pharmacy per location-specific SOPs as needed Maintain compliance with DEA, Louisiana Board of Pharmacy, HIPAA, and all applicable federal and state regulations Ensure controlled substance records, reconciliation, and returns are handled accurately Support inventory oversight including expired drug pulls and ordering flags Complete all required pharmacist documentation in PioneerRx accurately and on time Float Duties Transition between Northside Pharmacy (Lafayette) and Soileau's Pharmacy (New Iberia) per assigned schedule Maintain consistent workflow and patient experience standards across both locations Communicate operational issues, patient concerns, or inventory flags

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS Pharm) Active, unrestricted Louisiana Pharmacist License in good standing Retail pharmacy dispensing experience Reliable personal transportation between Lafayette and New Iberia Preferred Experience with PioneerRx pharmacy software (training provided if needed) Independent pharmacy background Strong communication skills with patients, technicians, and prescribers

Pay:

$50.00 - $62.00 per hour
