Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract A healthcare facility specializing in home infusion is seeking a PRN Staff Pharmacist to provide clinical pharmacy support for patients requiring IV and infusion therapies. This role offers the opportunity to work on-site in Cambridge, MA, supporting a range of acute and chronic medical needs with flexible, part-time scheduling.
Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and process physician orders while verifying insurance benefits
  • Perform sterile compounding and support cleanroom operations in compliance with USP 797 standards
  • Ensure the safe dispensing of medications and infusion-related supplies
  • Maintain accurate patient and pharmacy records in adherence to federal and state regulations
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and pharmacy support staff
  • Manage assigned patient caseloads and provide coverage for other pharmacists as needed
Schedule/Hours:
  • Initial 4-8 days of training on the EMR system
  • Approximately 2 days per month with flexible scheduling plus ongoing PRN coverage as needed
  • Typical shifts from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, on-site
Qualifications:
  • Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License in good standing
  • Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy experience; 2+ years of clinical pharmacy experience preferred
  • Experience with infusion therapy and sterile compounding required
  • Thorough knowledge of USP 797 sterile compounding standards
