Compounding Staff Pharmacist Johnson Compounding and Wellness Waltham, MA Job Details Full-time $50 - $53 an hour 12 hours ago Benefits Continuing education credits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Flexible spending account Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Employee discount Life insurance Retirement plan Qualifications Computer operation Phone communication Basic math In-person customer service HIPAA Order processing tools Patient service Inventory management software Licensed Pharmacist (State-Specific) Attention to detail Licensed Pharmacist Organizational skills Computer skills Delegation Client interaction via phone calls Database software proficiency Full Job Description Staff Pharmacist Job Activities and Responsibilities Responsibilities of the Compounding Staff Pharmacist consist of, but are not limited to, the following: Directs/supervises the work of pharmacy technicians to ensure that appropriate dispensing and compounding techniques are used to prepare various high quality non-sterile and sterile preparations with precision and accuracy according to the Master Formulation or Compounding Record Conducts a thorough review of all prescriptions for accuracy and appropriate compounding procedures prior to dispensing Maintains a clean, orderly, and sanitary workspace Conducts a drug utilization review on all prescription orders Provides information to prescribers and customers about drug interactions, side effects, dosing, appropriate use, and storage of compounded medications in a professional manner Regularly meets deadlines for filling prescriptions, reports, operational data, billing, and other time-sensitive activities Exhibits excellent oral and written communication skills, including but not limited to, inter- and intradepartmental, patient, and prescriber communication Reports all quality-related events to a centralized database to improve best practices for quality control Adheres to HIPAA and HITECH regulations to ensure patient confidentiality Adheres to all federal and state regulations, United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards, and all applicable Johnson Compounding and Wellness Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Portrays a positive professional appearance and serves as a role model for all personnel through the enthusiastic performance of all duties Completes all applicable Continuing Education (CE) credits as required by the MA Board of Pharmacy Supports the Johnson Compounding and Wellness team effort by performing other duties as indicated or delegated by the pharmacist in charge, including support of other departments as needed Minimum Qualifications Accredited BS degree in pharmacy and/or PharmD Active pharmacist license in the state of MA Compounding pharmacy experience preferred Required Abilities Punctuality and reliability are a must Ability to stand for up to 10 hours Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents Strong pharmaceutical math skills Required computer skills include hands-on use of order processing, inventory and database software Excellent oral and written communication skills Required Skills Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail Required computer skills include hands-on use of order processing, inventory, and database software Basic computer skills preferred Ability to work with others in a team setting Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills Ability to adapt to a changing environment
