Holy Cross Health - Silver Spring, MD Position Purpose Interprets and evaluates physician orders in order to prepare and dispense appropriate medications to patients at Holy Cross Health. Manages drug therapy of patients. Reviews, accesses and maintains patient medication records and profiles for allergies, drug interactions and therapeutic duplication to provide a consistent quality of patient care and appropriate drug therapy. Provides information to physicians, nurses, and patients. May assist in developing competencies for the department. Assists in the supervision of pharmacy technicians in distributive functions and departmental operations under the direction of the pharmacy operations manager and director of pharmacy. Performance demonstrates efforts to improve patient satisfaction, lower costs and improve quality. Supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Health.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.
Active Maryland Pharmacy Licensure Active BLS and ACLS Certification Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required National pharmacy technician certification, or actively enrolled in Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) approved pharmacy school program (successful completion of foreign pharmacy graduate examination will be considered equivalent). Registration with Maryland Board of Pharmacy. Pass math/pharmaceutical calculation test. Previous hospital experience required and one (1) year of IV admixture and chemotherapy experience preferred. Able to communicate effectively, and speak, write and comprehend English. Able to work cooperatively with hospital and pharmacy staff, in order to meet objectives. Must be able to handle frequent interruptions, and changes in workload and work schedule.
Pay Range:
54.94 - 82.40 USD Hourly Pay is based on experience, skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
