Summary:
This position will be focused on providing high-quality patient care and education for our oncology patients at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland. Core functions may include but are not limited to the following:
- Work collaboratively as part of interdisciplinary teams to enhance the quality of medication use through optimizing drug selection, ensuring safe medication use, and reduced drug expenditures.
o Assessment of the appropriateness of therapeutics o Provide alternative regimens as needed o Integrate laboratory and clinical data to assess clinical progression related to therapeutics o Identify drug interactions and pharmacokinetic issues
- Provide education to patients and/or their caregivers about new medications or any medications to help promote high levels of knowledge, engagement, and adherence.
- Serve as a resource for drug information during and after rounds to healthcare givers.
- Demonstrate commitment to supporting our pharmacy student and residency programs Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD degree from a recognized/accredited school or college of pharmacy required.
License/Certifications:
Current applicable state(s) license with Board of Pharmacy required.
Experience:
Previous pharmacist experience preferred. The base range is an estimate and does not reflect the full value of our total compensation package. The pay range for this position is $122,408.00 to $165,630.40 per year. Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
