Responsibilities Dispense medications accurately in accordance with prescriptions, ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and hospital policies. Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine appropriate pharmacotherapy plans, considering physiology, pharmacology, and medical history. ICU, PICU
(Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and emergency departments to optimize medication therapy. Ensure sterile compounding and aseptic techniques are meticulously followed for IV infusions and other parenteral medications. Maintain detailed documentation within Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems, including medication histories and patient interactions. Monitor drug regulation compliance and participate in pharmaceutical regulatory activities to uphold safety standards. Assist in training and precepting pharmacy residents, students, or new staff to promote continuous learning and excellence in pharmacy practice. Requirements Valid pharmacist license with current registration in the practicing state. Extensive clinical pharmacy experience, including hospital pharmacy settings with exposure to hospital medicine, emergency room procedures, and acute care environments. Proven expertise in managed care pharmacy practices and familiarity with Level I and Level II trauma centers. Experience working within pharmacy information systems (PIS) and electronic health records (EHR), demonstrating proficiency in medication management software. Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapeutics, pharmacology, physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and drug regulation standards. Hands-on experience with IV infusion preparation, aseptic technique, IV compounding, and oncology medication management. Background in pain management, acute pain protocols, pediatrics, ICU care, and emergency medicine is highly desirable. Ability to perform patient assessments accurately and deliver exceptional patient service while practicing as a pharmacist in fast-paced environments. Post-residency or equivalent post-residency experience preferred; additional certifications such as pharmacy residency or specialized training in critical care or pharmacology are advantageous.
