Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Pharmacist Job Type Contract To Hire This pharmacist position focuses on serving a Long Term Care (LTC) setting, providing essential medication management and pharmacy services. The role involves reviewing prescriptions with attention to accuracy, compounding sterile and non-sterile medications, supervising pharmacy staff, and offering guidance on prescription and over-the-counter medications to nursing facility personnel. This opportunity is local with a contract to hire arrangement and involves day and afternoon shifts.
Location:
Eden Prairie, MN (local to Burnsville, MN area)
Responsibilities:
Review prescriptions from physicians and authorized prescribers to ensure accuracy Determine formulas and ingredients needed for medication compounding Compound sterile and non-sterile medications using standardized processes, including weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients Direct pharmacy staff responsible for mixing, packaging, and labeling medications Dispense medications accurately and counsel nursing facility staff on prescription and over-the-counter medication use Support compliance with all relevant pharmacy regulations and LTC protocols
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Licensed pharmacist with relevant state certification Experience in Long Term Care pharmacy settings preferred Proficient in compounding both sterile and non-sterile medications Strong attention to detail and ability to supervise pharmacy operations Excellent communication skills to counsel healthcare staff effectively
