Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A pharmacy opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to support a healthcare facility in the Burnsville, MN area on an 8-week contract basis. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, with shifts varying between 9:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m., including weekend rotations.

Responsibilities:

Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately. Monitor and manage patient medication compliance and possible over-usage. Ensure legal compliance in medication supply and verify prescriptions for suitability. Maintain confidential and precise patient records and pharmacy files. Provide patient counseling regarding medication usage, potential reactions, and answer related queries. Consult on prescription and over-the-counter medications, covering storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions. Deliver patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management. Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters. Compound medications for both external and internal use, including preparation of sterile solutions following established procedures. Supervise pharmacy staff such as technicians and clerks to ensure efficient pharmacy operations. Maintain appropriate inventory levels of pharmaceutical and medical supplies. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers to identify and resolve drug-related problems.

Qualifications:

Active Minnesota pharmacist license. Willingness to accept and train retail pharmacists for the role. Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends.
