Job Description
Jackson HealthPros seeks a weekend Pharmacist to support partner healthcare facilities by ensuring safe, accurate dispensing and high-quality medication management. In this on-site role, you will verify, fill, and dispense prescriptions; review orders for interactions and contraindications; and provide clear counseling to patients and caregivers. You'll collaborate with clinicians, maintain complete documentation, manage inventory and controlled substances, and uphold state and federal regulations while contributing to a mission-driven, patient-focused culture. Responsibilities Verify, fill, and dispense prescriptions with accuracy and safety Provide medication counseling and education to patients and caregivers Review medication orders for interactions, allergies, and contraindications Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians on medication therapy Maintain accurate patient records and pharmacy documentation Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations and standards Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff during weekend shifts Manage weekend inventory, controlled substances, and medication storage Respond to medication-related questions from facilities and clinicians Support quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives Required Skills Prescription verification and dispensing Clinical pharmacotherapy knowledge Drug interaction and allergy screening Patient counseling and education Pharmacy law and regulatory compliance Sterile and non-sterile compounding basics Use of pharmacy information systems and e MARInventory and controlled substance management Medication order review and interpretation Interdisciplinary clinical communication
