Job Description

Come join the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) Pharmacy as a part-time Pharmacist. Enjoy weekly pay, great benefits, and 401k starting day one. Whatever your career goals may be, let SMSC help you get there! We are looking for a Pharmacist to support the pharmacy for 16 hours a week. The ideal candidate will be available in afternoons on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays . Additional hours can be available when full-time Pharmacists take time off. Job Summary Dispense medications, counsel patients on the use of prescription and over-the-counter medication therapy and provide information on products such as durable medical equipment. Oversees the work performed by the Pharmacy Technicians and provides direction as needed. Provides medication related information to SMSC providers as requested. Primary Duties Accurately dispenses medications, counsel patients on the use of prescription and over-the-counter medication therapy and provide information on products such as durable medical equipment or home health care supplies. Maintain confidential patient records to be used to avoid harmful drug interactions. Monitor the health and progress of patients in response to drug therapy to ensure the safe and effective use of medication. Understands and complies with all state and federal rules and regulations concerning the dispensing of medications. Work closely with Pharmacy Technicians to assist in the dispensing of medications and related administrative tasks. Complies with HIPAA rules and maintains all patient information confidentially and securely. Oversees SMSC Pharmacy operation when needed. Job Requirements Successful completion of a bachelors', masters' or doctoral degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college or university. and any additional required training to become a Licensed Pharmacist. Must be currently licensed as a Licensed Pharmacist by and in good standing with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy. Retail pharmacy experience highly preferred Good computer skills to include MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as other business related software as needed. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must hold and maintain Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. If not CPR certified upon hire, must obtain certification within 90 days of employment. This position is subject to testing for drugs (THC included) & alcohol in accordance with the Federal Department of Transportation Regulations as well as the SMSC's Drug/THC and Alcohol Policy.
