Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A temporary pharmacist position is available in Fulton, MO, offering an opportunity to support pharmacy operations within a specialized state psychiatric hospital environment. This role involves working in a pharmacy facility located outside the secure perimeter, with no direct patient contact expected.
Location:
Fulton, Missouri Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Pharmacy closed on Missouri state holidays No weekends or on-call shifts required
Qualifications & Experience:
Active Missouri pharmacist license required Behavioral health experience not necessary Local candidates preferred due to onsite training requirements
Responsibilities:
Perform pharmacist verification of technician-prepared medication packs, including identifying flagged bags, repackaging, making bag corrections, and refilling canisters Conduct barcode scanning of medications after technician fills orders to ensure accuracy Collaborate with pharmacy staff available for troubleshooting and assistance as needed Limited order verification responsibilities Support smooth daily pharmacy operations and maintain compliance with protocols
Systems & Training:
Utilize Oracle/Cerner order entry system (training provided; no prior experience needed) Operate Parata ATP2 Packager automation system (training provided) Approximately three days of preparatory training before starting
Work Environment & Team:
Business casual or any color scrubs attire Work alongside a multi-disciplinary pharmacy team including a Director of Pharmacy, Clinical Manager, Psychiatric Pharmacist Resident, Informatics Pharmacist, and Clinical Pharmacists Supportive setting emphasizing accurate dispensing in a specialized state psychiatric hospital This contract opportunity starts in early September and continues until a permanent pharmacist is hired.
