Job Description

MAC Rx of MO, a growing long term care pharmacy, is seeking a Staff Pharmacist (PRN) to join our team! The successful candidate will have intimate knowledge of federal and state pharmacy laws and guidelines, be a problem solver, and is able to work well in a team environment. The primary purpose of this position is to provide routine and emergency comprehensive and accurate drug screening, information, processing and dispensing services for various drug distribution system to long term care facilities. Responsibilities include :
  • Initial review of new orders input by technicians against prescriptions
  • Verify orders for appropriate dosage; reviewing reports on drug interactions and duplicate therapy
  • Check final packaged product against the label
  • Compound prescriptions as needed
  • Consult with medical professionals on patient therapies and outcomes
  • Supervisor pharmacy technicians and pharmacy inters as required
  • Package and assist with shipping orders as needed
  • Data entry of orders when necessary
  • Assist the billing department to ensure all prescriptions are properly billed and charged
  • Coordinate with internal departments to increase efficiency, problem solve and maintain excellent customer service
Qualifications and Requirements :
  • Strong attention to detail required
  • Intimate knowledge of federal and state pharmacy laws and guidelines
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy with a PharmD
  • Must be licensed by the Missouri State Board of Pharmacy
  • Ability to follow direction and prioritize tasks
  • Problem solver
  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment
  • Minimum of 3 years in institutional pharmacy practice, long term care pharmacy preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Work within Scope of Practice as appropriate
